7.1
Focus Setting
The special feature of the TIM camera series 8 and 40 is the motorized focus adjustment. This can be found under
menu
View
,
Windows
and
Distance
. Here you can change the position of the focus by moving the gray slider. The
black slider marks the current position of the engine. With the arrow keys you can also change the position in different
stages. An adjustment to the left leads to the focus setting „near“ and an adjustment to the right to the focus setting
„infinite“.

7.2.1
General
The TIM 8 has a direct analog input (AI) / digital input (DI) for camera control and a direct analog output (AO) for pro-
cess control. These can be connected to the supplied terminal block. In addition, there is an RS485 interface. When
using the RS485 interface, the direct outputs and inputs are not available. The signal level is 0 - 10 V for AI and 0/4 - 20
mA for AO. The interfaces can be set up by the software with the following functionality:

Emissivity, Ambient temperature, Reference temperature, Uncommitted value, Flag Control,
Triggered Snapshots, Triggered Recording, Triggered Linescanner, Triggered event grabber,
Reset Peak-/Valley-Hold
Analog output (AO)
