All air ducts have to be insulated after they have been installed to reduce heat loss and noise
level. Insulation has to be applied to protect against external condensation on the cold exhaust
duct.
It is recommended to mount a flexible connection between the air duct and duct connection
to ease future service of the unit.
It is also recommended to install silencer units in between the heat pump unit and the
ventilation system to avoid potential travel of noise from the unit to the ventilation system.
5.6 Connecting temperature sensors, circulation pump and auxilary electrical
heater
All electrical connections are located in the junction box on the left hand side of the unit.
Undo the junction box cover in order to connect external temperature sensors, pump, and
heating element.
Temperature sensor T8 is the sensor which controls the start/stop of the heat pump. The T8
sensor shall be installed at such height on the water tank that there is sufficent hot back-up
water above the sensor but not so low that the heat pump will start every time hot water is
being used.
It is recommended to install the T8 sensor in the tank at around the same height as the inlet
from the heat pump. i.e., around in the middle of the tank.
If there is no appropiate sensor pocket available on the tank at this height, the sensor can also
installed on the outside of the tank, as long as good tank contact and proper insulation to the
surroundings is ensured.
Temperature sensor T7 is the temperature sensor which controls the auxilary electrical heater. If
no electrical heater is installed T7 is just used for monitoring purposes.
The T7 sensor shall always be installed above the electrical heater and a high temperature safety
braker shall be installed in the electrical circuit.
The power of the auxilary electrial heater must not exceed 1,5 kW. In case a larger heater is
required a reley/contactor setup shall be installed.
Do not drill any holes for
fittings etc. in the unit appart from
those allowed for fixtation.
This could potential damage the
product causing it to be having to
be scrapped.
The METROAIR AQUA HPM
must always be disconnected from
the power before the top cover of
the unit is removed!
When the unit is disconnected from
the power, please wait until the fan
has stopped before dismantling the
top cover!
