• SLIDING PADS OF THE TELESCOPIC BOOM (INNER PADS)
To ensure maximum reliability, performance and durability for the telescopic
boom, it is necessary to perform a visual inspection of inner sliding pads "B".
To inspect the inner sliding pads of the telescopic boom, remove rear case "4"
first (see also paragraph "COVERS").
Perform the following checks on the inner sliding pads of the telescopic boom:
1 - visual inspection of inner sliding pads to check for wear
2 - visual inspection of inner sliding pads to check for wear uniformity
3 - visual inspection of inner sliding pads to check for any breaks
4 - visual inspection of inner sliding pads to check for any burr or large shavings (plastic powder is accepted).
Should any of the above conditions be met, please contact Merlo Technical Support Service.
• PIPES-GUIDE PIPE
Completely extend the boom and
grease (about 200 ml / 7 floz) in the
points shown (A).
• DIESEL FILTER
Check if the diesel filter "A" is obstructed by proceeding as follows:
-
Stop the machine engine
-
Lie under the engine (in the area towards the centre of the frame) and inspect
the diesel filter "A" through one of the holes on the enclosure (see picture)
If the diesel filter is excessively dirty, clean it by the proceeding as follows:
-
Remove the engine lower protection enclosure
-
Remove the diesel filter fastening bands "B" and disconnet the diesel filter
from the conduits
-
Direct an air blast in the opposite direction to the fuel flow, so as to eject any
sediments the filter may contain
-
Inspect the inside of the filter and make sure that the net is in good conditions and contains no cloggings. Otherwise,
request a spare net to the Merlo Technical Support Service and replace the old net.
-
Mount back the filter by connecting the conduits and inserting the fastening bands "B".
WARNING! The diesel filter has a printed arrow on its plastic shell which indicates the fuel flow direction.
When mounting back the filter onto the engine, make sure it is inserted in the correct direction, otherwise it will lose
its protective efficiency.
