• Two-stage, situation-dependent triggering of the
driver and front passenger airbag
• Optimized location of the front passenger airbag
(at the top of the instrument panel)
• Deactivation of the front passenger airbag, front
passenger emergency tensioning retractor and
front passenger sidebag when the front
passenger seat is unoccupied
- by the automatic child seat recognition
(ACSR)
- by the weight sensing system (USA)
• Sidebags integrated in the backrests of the
driver and front passenger seats
• Sidebags in the rear behind the left and right
side paneling
• Windowbags between the A-pillar and C-pillar
and one gas generator for each in the side roof
frame
• Automatic child seat recognition (ACSR) with
transponder on the front passenger seat
• Knee airbag on the driver side
• Pelvis airbags on the driver and passenger sides
as standard equipment (USA)
• 3-point seat belts with reversible emergency
tensioning retractor, seat belt usage recognition
and reminder, as well as belt status indicator for
the driver and front passenger
• Belt extenders for the driver and passenger side
• Passenger-side belt extender retracts again
after 5 seconds when the front passenger seat is
not occupied
• 3-point seat belts in the rear with emergency
tensioning retractor, belt force limiter, seat belt
usage recognition and belt status indicator
