3.
After the glottis is clearly exposed, insert the tracheal tube (with an intubation
guide wire inside) into the patient’s oral cavity along the right side of the
laryngoscope blade. Once the distal end of the tracheal tube reaches the visual
field in front of the laryngoscope blade, the distance between the distal end of
the tracheal tube and the glottis will be clearly displayed on the display screen.
Align the distal end of the tracheal tube with the glottis and make it slightly
enter the lower part of the glottis. Ask the assistant to remove the intubation
guide wire, and continue pushing downwards the tracheal tube based on the
image displayed on the screen while the assistant is removing the intubation
guide wire.
4.
After inserting the tracheal tube to an appropriate depth (the cuff reaches the
place 1cm below the glottis), immobilize the tracheal tube with the right hand
and withdraw the video laryngoscope and laryngoscope blade from the oral
cavity with the left hand. Then, inflate the cuff moderately and connect to a
breathing machine to control the breathing.
5.
After withdrawing the video laryngoscope and laryngoscope blade, use one
hand to hold the handle of the video laryngoscope, use another hand to move
the snap joint outwards, and pull out the laryngoscope blade from the video
laryngoscope. After that, discard the laryngoscope blade for disposal.
WARNING:
After use, the laryngoscope blade must be disposed of according to local laws
and regulations or hospital rules.
