Quick reference COMAND

The sound functions are available for the
following operating modes:

Radio

MP3

The following sound functions are avail-
able:

Default settings

Reset of sound functions to factory
settings.

Standard

Customary Hi-Fi sound.

Front optimized

Sound optimized for best replay at
the two front seats.

Rear optimized

Sound optimized for best replay at
the rear seats.

Speech optimized

Replay optimized for speech compre-
hension.

Surround

Surround sound (not available for TV
mode and for AM wave ranges in Ra-
dio mode).

Depending on vehicle type and selected
operation mode, different sound modes
can be activated for each one of the op-
erating modes listed above.

cannot be selected from the rear cabin,

Sound functions

Surround sound offers a sound quali-
ty superior to conventional stereo
sound.

Surround sound works with all con-
ventional stereo audio sources (e.g.
stereo CD or stereo radio).

If the radio reception is poor, the sys-
tem should be switched back to stan-
dard stereo playback. Switching back
to standard stereo playback may im-
prove reception quality.
