This arrangement shows the same MLA Mini array configuration as Option 6, but demonstrates
how a Merlin processor can be used as a U-Net hub. The connection between the PC and the
Merlin is now via Ethernet. Each of the Merlin’s two U-Net ports feed the arrays on one side of
the stage, which are themselves daisy-chained together. As the U-Net ports on the Merlin are
Neutrik Ethercons, RJ45-to-U-Net adaptors are required. The arrangement in Option 7 does not
provide redundant operation.

Option 8 is an adaption of Option 7 to provide redundant operation; the U-Net loop running
around the four subs and the Merlin is now a complete loop.
