2. Lockout/Tagout
Perform a pneumatic and electrical locked on the blender prior to any
Cleaning/Maintenance/Repair of the blender. See Pneumatic and Electrical LOTO on
page 99.
3. Open Front Access Door
To access the Weigh Bin and Mix Chamber, open the draw latches and open the front
door. Some models have a two-stage front door for accessing the upper Weigh Bin area
and a lower door to access the Mix Chamber. Inspect and clean the door, hinge and
Safety Interlock Switch. Note: On the Micro Blender, the Mix Blade is attached to the
Door and removes as one assembly.
4. Remove the Weigh Bin
Disconnect the Weigh Bin air line and lift the Weigh Bin off of the weigh bin hangers and
out of the blender. Inspect and clean. Also see maintenance, next section.
5. Remove the Mix Blades and Mix Chamber
Micro Blender - Mix Blade is attached to the Door and removes as one assembly.
900, 1200, 1800
– Mix Blade and Mix Chamber removes as one unit.
2400, 3000
– Mix Blades are non-removeable.
Inspect and Clean Mix Blades and Mix Chamber.
6. Clean Blender Interior
Using a vacuum and/or external supplied air nozzle, inspect and clean: slide gates
(located above the load cells), weigh bin hangers, load cell assemblies, mix chamber,
and access door and door hinges. Inspect all moving and non-moving parts for wear or
damage. Clean and inspect slide gate rails for wear and free movement. Clean and
inspect weigh bin hangers and load cell assemblies for damage or wear.
7. Reassembly
Re-install the Mix Chamber first (if removed), then reinstall the Mix Blades, followed by
the Weigh Bin. When installing the Weigh Bin use caution to ensure the Weigh Bin is
hanging properly on the Load Cell hangers and does come in contact with the sides of
the blender or guards. Connect the Weigh Bin air line and ensure the air line does not
interfere with the weigh bin. Close the access door and re-connect the draw latches.
