Maintenance manual MT 25 / 30 YT

Air suspension

Fig. 66: Bellows

Air pressure in the bellows is automatically adjusted for the
load by a regulator valve. At a load of approx. 14 t, the air sus-
pension bellows is compressed so far that the frame lies solidly
on the axle. At this load the suspension is without effect.

You can lower the vehicle frame in order to take up parked low
trailers. Lowering is done by letting out the air of the air sus-
pension bellows of the rear axle.

Carry out a function inspection.
Deflate the air suspension bellows by pressing the “air sus-
pension” button. After releasing the button the air suspen-
sion bellows are inflated again.

Check the air suspension bellows for signs of wear.
