Adjusting Knife Guards and Guard Bar

If a knife guard or the guard bar is misaligned due to contact with a rock or similar obstruction, use the guard straightening
tool (MAC286705) available from your MacDon Dealer to correct the issue.

DANGER

To prevent bodily injury or death from the unexpected start-up or fall of a raised machine, always stop the engine and
remove the key before leaving the operator

’

s seat, and always engage the safety props before going under the

machine for any reason.

WARNING

Wear heavy gloves when working around or handling knives.

1.

Raise the reel fully.

2.

Shut down the engine, and remove the key from the ignition.

3.

Engage the reel safety props. For instructions, refer to

Engaging Reel Safety Props, page 33

.
