The user must connect his mouth to the loop,

inspire

by the mouth and

blow

by the nose

several time until the counterlung collapse. This may require a thoracic effort to empty the
rebreather as much as possible. During the last

inspiration

, close the DSV.

The user has to observe the counterlung and the breathing hoses (The flexible elements)
and watch any movement due to the

infiltration of gas

.

After a few minutes, opening the DSV must generate a characteristic noise due to the infil-
tration of gas.

If these two results are not satisfied that means there are some leaks. In this case see
section 3.2.1.

3.2.3

Cells test

The test of the cells is needed before each dive to insure a good operation and the accuracy

during the dive.

The cell checking is made just after the negative pressure test, i.e when the rebreather is
empty of gas.
It is necessary to do an oxygen flush to observe the

getting high. This is performed

according to the next steps:

1. Open the oxygen tank

2. Inject oxygen without generating an overpressure

3. Generate a vacuum in the rebreather, and close the DSV

4. Inject oxygen as before

5. Purge the rebreather
