Installing and Removing Modules
Replacing the fan tray
Replacement of a power filter in a Stinger FS or Stinger FS+ chassis requires the
following tools:
–
#1 Phillips screwdriver
–
#2 Phillips screwdriver
–
3/8in. socket
–
Socket driver with an extension 8 inches or more in length
–
A magnetic or grasping retrieval tool to aid retrieval and replacement of
dropped washers in the air intake area of the chassis (optional)
Removing a power filter
To remove a power filter in a Stinger FS or Stinger FS+ chassis, manufactured prior to
late 2005, use the following procedure:

Remove all service from the unit. Locate the power switch for the power filter
being replaced, shown in Figure 6-7, and switch it off.

Switch the supply voltage for the unit of, and verify that no voltage is present on
the wires that are connected to the power filter terminals.

In the rear of the chassis, remove the protective plastic cover over the terminal
lugs on the power filter that you are removing. (See Figure 6-7)

Remove the nuts and power supply wires from the terminal lugs. (See
Figure 6-7.)
