Chapter 5: Setting Up and Configuring the Router
Before You Begin

4-Port SSL/IPSec VPN Router

•

Virtual Passage. On this screen, define the IP address range for incoming Virtual Passage clients and establish 
an SSL VPN tunnel by Virtual Passage.

Log Tab

•

System Log. The System Log displays the syslog, e-mail alert, and log settings.

•

System Statistics. This tab displays the system statistics.

Wizard Tab

•

Wizard. Use this tab to access two Setup Wizards, the Basic Setup Wizard and Access Rule Setup Wizard. 

Support Tab

•

Support. Use this screen to conveniently access this User Guide and the Linksys website.

Logout Tab

•

Logout. Click the Logout tab to exit the Utility.

Before You Begin

The Router’s Web-based Utility and SSL VPN Portal support Internet Explorer 6.0 (or higher) and Netscape 
Communicator 8.0 (or higher) running in a Windows environment.

To configure the SSL VPN software, your web browser must have SSL, JavaScript, ActiveX, and cookies enabled 
(these settings are enabled by default). If the settings are already enabled, proceed to the next section, “How to 
Access the Web-based Utility”. If the settings are disabled, you should enable them before configuring the Router. 
Proceed to the instructions for your web browser.
