Chapter 5: Setting Up and Configuring the Router
Overview

4-Port SSL/IPSec VPN Router

•

VLAN Membership. Use this screen to define the members of a VLAN.

QoS Tab

•

Bandwidth Management. Configure the Router so that the higher priority types of network traffic receive 
better service. 

•

QoS Setup. Enable Quality of Service (QoS) and configure Trust Mode and Class of Service (CoS) settings. 

•

Queue Settings. You can set the Router to service the queues based on a strict rule that requires all traffic in 
a higher priority queue to be processed before lower priority queues are serviced, or you can set the Router to 
use Weighted Round Robin (WWR) queuing, which specifies a relative weight of each queue.

•

DSCP Settings. With Differentiated Services Code Point (DSCP)-based QoS, the Router can use traffic priorities 
specified in the IP header of a frame.

Firewall Tab

•

General. Use this screen to enable or disable various firewall, security, and web features, including Stateful 
Packet Inspection (SPI), DoS (Denial of Service), and Remote Management.

•

Access Rules. Access Rules evaluate the network traffic's source IP address, destination IP address, and IP 
protocol type to decide whether the IP traffic is allowed to pass through the firewall. You can set up custom 
Access Rules from this screen. 

•

Content Filter. You can filter web access to block certain types of content, according to a schedule you 
designate.

IPSec VPN Tab

•

Summary. This screen displays the Summary and Tunnel Status settings and information.

•

Gateway to Gateway. Use this screen to create a new tunnel between two VPN devices.

•

VPN Pass Through. This tab allows you to disable IPSec, PPTP, and/or L2TP Pass Through.

SSL VPN Tab

•

Summary. This screen displays the Summary and Active Users settings and information.

•

User Management. Use this screen to define users for your SSL VPN tunnels.
