B06. TILT AND TELESCOPIC STEERING

WHEEL

Check tilt and telescopic steering wheel
operation.

a) Manually adjustable type:

Check that the tilt and telescopic steer-
ing wheel can be adjusted smoothly and
locks securely in each position. 

b) Power

−

adjustable type:

1. Manual Switch Operation

Tilt Steering Wheel:
With the engine switch in the
“ACC” or “IG-ON” mode, push the
control switch up or down to set
the steering wheel in the desired
height position.
Telescopic Steering Wheel:
With the engine switch in the
“ACC” or  “IG

−

ON” mode, push the

control switch forward or backward
to set the steering wheel in the
desired position.

2. Automatic Tilt-Away Operation

When the engine switch is se-
lected in the “OFF” mode, the
steering column moves forward
away from the driver and also
tilts up.

D

When the engine switch is se-
lected in the “ACC” or “IG-ON”
mode, the steering column re-
turns to the previously set posi-
tion.
