Lexus PDS

Engine start / stop

a) Carry the electronic key in the vehicle

and apply the parking brake.

b) Check that the shift lever is the “P”

position (automatic transmission) or
the neutral position (manual transmis-
sion).

c) When depressing the brake pedal (au-

tomatic transmission) or the clutch ped-
al (manual transmission), check that the
green engine switch illuminator comes
on and push the engine switch to start
the engine.

d) Push the engine switch regardless of

brake position to stop the engine.

B03. SEAT BELTS

Check seat belt operation.

a) Check that each belt extends and re-

tracts smoothly.

b) Check that the belts are not twisted.

c) Check that the buckles lock securely

and release smoothly.

d) Check that the adjustable seat belt an-

chors operate properly and that they
securely lock in position.
