The asterisks indicate that the traits are captured.
If the Color trait had been set to a value that is not defined by the union

structure, the console displays the actual value encased in brackets as shown

here.

A continuous type within a union/end union structure uses its label as part of the

trait's value label. This makes it possible to identify multiple continuous traits

within one union/end union trait. Labels should be kept to a maximum of four

characters since an offset value is displayed after the label to indicate the position

within the range. In this example the top line of the LCD display shows

Color

,

the union label.

Clr

, the continuous label, is shown just below the trait label

followed by a number starting at 1 and continuously incrementing to 156

(max(255) - min(100) + 1 = 156).
Once Modify wheel 1 has been used to change the color trait to

Yellow

, turning

it once more clockwise causes control to be transferred to the continuous portion
of the union/end union structure. The display looks like this:
