5. Assembling the microscope – illuminAtion
5.10 Assembling the transmitted light lamp housing
Caution!
Ensure that the lamp housing has been disconnected
from the power supply. Unplug the power plug and the
power supply during assembly.
CAUTION
Light sources pose a potential irradiation risk (blinding,
UV radiation, IR radiation). Therefore, lamps may only be
operated in closed housing and in an installed condition.
Never look directly into the beam path (blinding hazard).
For the tiltable transmitted light illuminator arm:
• Place the lamp housing into the transmitted light lamp
housing receptacle (Fig. 45) and fasten it with the side
clamping screw.
• Route the cable into the cable shaft on the rear side of the
transmitted light illuminator arm (Fig. 46).
Leica DMi8 M and C with manual transmitted light method:
• Connect the cable of the lamp housing to the port
(Fig. 47.1) on the rear side of the microscope.
Leica DMi8 A with motorized transmitted light method:
• Connect the cable of the lamp housing to the power sup-
ply for transmitted light for the Leica CTR electronics box
(“Lamp TL” port).
