Stopping the vehicle

After complete stop of the vehicle,

keeping your foot on the brake
pedal, shift the gear change lever to
position

, thereupon, the gearbox is

switched to neutral gear, and the
traction wheels are mechanically
locked by the transmission.

ATTENTION!

Never attempt to move the

gear change lever to position P
while driving the vehicle. This will
lead to serious mechanical dam-
age and loss of vehicle drivability.

Driving in economy mode

long and flat grades where the
engine braking, as well as sportive
and dynamic driving are necessary.

For example, when driving at low

speed or overcoming low grades
the gearbox can periodically be
switched to overdrive and back. You
can feel little bumps when the gear-
box changes the gears. In this case,
press button

O/D

to switch off the

overdrive gear (position –

OFF

).

When the driving conditions are

changed, press button

O/D

to switch

on the overdrive gear

ON

. The over-

drive off indicator in the instrument
cluster will go off.

ATTENTION!

It is not recommended to drive

at high speed on roads in subur-
ban areas for a long time with the
overdrive gear off (position –
OFF), as this increases fuel con-
sumption.

Short-term stops

During short-term stop, for exam-

ple, at the traffic lights, it is not neces-
sary to shift to position

and, more-

over, to

. It is enough to hold on the

vehicle by means of the brake pedal.
Thereupon, the engine will run at idle.

Parking

The vehicle should be fully

stopped. Actuate the parking brake
and then put the gear change lever
to parking position

procedure, especially on grades, the
locking mechanism will not be too
loaded and then it will be easily to
change the lever from this position.

Starting upgrading

Actuate the parking brake on the

vehicle and shift the gear change
lever to position

Press the brake pedal, start up the

engine. Shift the gear change lever
to position

, after a while transmis-

sion will come to operation, and the
vehicle will be retained on the grade,
releasing the parking brake, press
the accelerator pedal, start driving.
The vehicle should start moving
