publication (June 2002), your LaCie
AIT U&I drive is not supported by
Mac for USB 2.0 operation. You can
still use the USB port on your Mac,
but you will be limited to USB 1.1
speeds and performance. To get better
speed and performance, you should
use the FireWire port.
The drive will not accept a tape cartridge. Is there a tape already in the drive?
Check the Tape LED on the front panel
of the drive. If it is lit, a tape is
already loaded. Eject the loaded tape,
then insert the tape you wish to load.
Are you using the correct tape format?
Your drive will only accept Sony AIT
tapes. Other tapes are not compatible
and will not work. See
page 7
for a
complete list of compatible Sony
AIT tapes.
Is the drive faulty?
Turn the drive off, wait 5 seconds,
then turn it back on. Observe the
drive during its normal power on
sequence: if the LEDs do not light,
check the power supply cable; if the
LEDs light normally, but the cartridge
is still not accepted, the drive may be
defective. E-mail your local LaCie
Technical Support department.
