9.3.3 NCW QOS Tab
This screen allows customizing the mapping between the type of service (TOS) field on
IP packets and the priority they will have on the NCW controlled satellite network.
Refer to Table 9-10 NCW QOS Tab for data descriptions for this window.

Control/Indicator/Function
Description
DS/ToSToS
DiffServ CodePoint (first 6 bits of IP Type of Service field).
Traffic Type
Label for the traffic type associated with the DiffServ CodePoint.
Delay Sensitive
Yes/No selection indicating whether the service is delay sensitive.
Note: Delay Sensitive CodePoint should only be used for streaming data
services.
Priority
SATCOM priority associated with the DiffServ CodePoint (0=highest;
15=lowest).
Aging
Yes/No selection indicating if packets are to be dropped due to age.
MS
If aging is enabled, time in milliseconds (ms) until packets are discarded.
Assured Delivery
Yes/No selection for packet acknowledgement/retransmission protocol.
Retransmit Max
The number of times an un-acknowledged packet is to be retransmitted (if
assured delivery is enabled).
Move Up
Moves the highlighted entry higher in its priority group.
Move Down
Moves the highlighted entry lower in its priority group.
Add
Adds a new entry.
Edit
Allows you to edit the DS/TOS that is highlighted.
Delete
Deletes the currently highlighted entry.
