SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
WARNINGS AND CAUTION STATEMENTS
WARNING and CAUTION statements may be placed in the text to emphasize certain
steps or procedures for the protection of personnel (WARNING) or equipment
(CAUTION).
A WARNING or CAUTION applies each time the related step is repeated. Prior to
starting any task, personnel should review and understand all WARNINGs or
CAUTIONs included in the text for that task in order to ensure personnel and equipment
safety.
KEEP AWAY FROM LIVE CIRCUITS
All personnel must observe safety regulations at all times. Do not replace components
or make adjustments inside the equipment with the equipment‟s power supply turned
on.
Under certain conditions, potential danger may exist when power control is in the off
position, due to charges briefly retained by internal power supply capacitors. To avoid
injuries, always remove power from the main power panel at the installation site, apply
power to the unit to discharge the capacitors, and then ground the unit before beginning
maintenance procedures. Be sure to adhere to all local lock out/tag out requirements.
DO NOT WEAR JEWELRY
Remove rings, watches, and other metallic objects that may cause shock or burn
hazards. Snagged rings have caused many serious injuries. Unless specifically allowed
by shop safety procedures, removal of finger rings
during all periods of maintenance
is required
.
