(Char.) on the character entry
screen changes the character type. Press
m
to toggle 2-byte/1-byte.
: Hiragana/Kanji
: 1-byte Alphabet
: 1-byte Numbers
: Katakana (1-byte)
: 2-byte Alphabet
: 2-byte Numbers
: Katakana (2-byte)
Enter a Character Quickly in
the Standby Screen
Set the "Write now" setting to ON and you can
enter characters quickly from the standby
screen (up to 1,000 2-byte/2,000 1-byte
characters). Phone number is also entered at
the same time. Entered characters or numbers
are used in various functions.

From the standby screen, press
k
→ [Settings] → [More settings] →
[Language & input] → Checkmark
