Operation
K. BAG COUNTER COUNTDOWN:

The 893 has a closed bag countdown counter. The
closer will count down from an operator entered
number. The status of the counter is shown on the
main screen. When the countdown reaches zero,
the “Count Complete” message will display on the
screen, and the alarm will activate (if enabled). The
closer will still close bags after the counter reaches
zero. The manual cycle button does not increment
the countdown counter. Setup the countdown
counter with the following procedures.
1. On the Main Control screen press the “Setup”
button.
2. Enter the password at the Password Required
screen and press the “OK” button.
3. Press the “Counts” button at the Setup screen.
4. Press the “Bag Counter” button at the Counters
screen.
5. Enter the number to start the countdown at.
Select “Sound Alarm” to activate the alarm
when the countdown counter reaches zero.
6. Press the “OK” button to exit back to the Main
Control screen.

The 893 has two separate alarm channels. The
alarms are activated when there is an error condi-
tion with the closer. Each alarm channel can be
selected independently, or they can be used togeth-
er. Alarm channel B can be setup to deliver a 200
ms pulse. The alarm system response can be indi-
vidually tailered for each error condition as shown
below. For example the “lok not inserted” could be
configured to pulse alarm B to activate a reject kick-
er, while the “bag jammed” error is setup to activate
only alarm A. The alarms are accessed through the
alarm port and alarm cable (Refer to Section IX
wiring for details). All error conditions also display
on the touch screen. Following are the alarms on
the 893.
Upper bogie plate open: The outside upper belt
plate (bogie plate) has a safety interlock. If the belt
plate is removed while the machine is running, the
belts immediately stop. Replace the belt plate to
clear the error.
