Assemble snap ring (13) and
outer ring (8), inside cover (7),
using pipe and hammer.
Assemble pre-mounted cover
(7), bolts (16) and tighten
manually.
•
Check axis preload value (K),
using a torquemeter.
•
Disassemble bolts (16) and
cover (7) and snap ring (13).
•
In order to test the right mesh
between gears, use a color
like Prussian blue on the
gear’s teething.
•
Assemble shim (2), snap ring
(13), inside the cover (7).
•
Assemble pre-mounted cover
(7), bolts (16) and tighten
manually.
•
Hit the shaft (12), from both
sides in order to set the axis.
•
Check axis preload value (W),
using a torquemeter.
•
The difference between value
(W) and value (K) must be
between 0.05 mm of
clearance and 1 kgcm of
preload.
•
If the value is not correct
change shim setting (2) in
order to obtain the right value.
•
Rotate manually shaft (12) in
the work direction and lock the
pinion shaft.
•
Verify the right mesh between
gears, (see the technical
specifications on page 11).

The backlash value must be
0.12÷0.32 mm.
•
In order to have the correct
backlash, change shims
setting (2)-(23) fig. 2.3-2.1,
(pls be aware that when you
change the shims set, you
also will have to re-set the
preload).
•
Disassemble bolts (16), cover
(7) and put a Silicone film
between housing and cover
contact surfaces.
•
Put a Loctite 270 film on
thread bolts (16). Assemble
cover (7), bolts (16) and
tighten to 5÷6.4 kgm.
•
Assemble oil seal (4), cap
(12), using pipe and hammer.
•
Assemble plug (15) and
tighten to 3 kgm max.
•
In order to prevent any leak of
oil, make the following test:
insufflate from the hole plug
(251) to pressure bar 0.35 and
put the gearbox in a tank; if
you prefer you can verify any
pressure drop with a
manometer assembled on
hole plug (15),(scale about 0.6
bar) for 10 minute.
•
Dry the gearbox.
•
Fill the gearbox with oil SAE
90EP.
•
Assemble plug (251) and
tighten to 3 kgm. max.
