PLACING THE FOOD
3.2 Deep-Freeze Compartments
•
The freezer compartment is used for freezing fresh food, for storing frozen foods for the
period of time indicated on packaging and for making ice cubes.
•
If the freezer door has been left open for a long time or not closed properly, frost may
form in the freezer which can prevent efficient air circulation. To resolve this situation,
unplug the freezer and wait for it to defrost. Once the freezer has defrosted, clean it
before using it again.
•
To increase the storage volume of freezer, you can remove baskets, covers, etc.
•
The freezer volume stated on the label is the volume without baskets, covers, etc.
IMPORTANT
Do not refreeze food once it has been thawed. It may pose a danger for your health
and cause problems such as food poisoning.
•
Do not put hot food in your deep freeze until it has completely cooled. It may cause
already frozen food to partially thaw and potentially become putrefied.
•
When you buy frozen food, make sure that it is frozen under appropriate conditions and
the packaging is not torn.
• If there had been humidification in the frozen food package and it has a foul smell, the
food may not have been stored correctly and may have gone rotten. Do not purchase
this type of foods.
•
The storage life of frozen foods depends on the room temperature, thermostat setting,
how often the door is opened, the type of food and the length of time required to trans-
port the product from the shop to your home. Always follow the instructions printed on
the packaging and never exceed the maximum storage life indicated.
•
Note: If frozen food is taken out of freezer and put in the bottom compartment of the
refrigerator the day before to thaw, it helps to reduce the temperature in the refrigerator,
which in turn saves energy. If you put the frozen food in an open area to thaw, energy
