Absolute Magnetic Length Measurement System

7.3.3 LSS services

LSS Hardware requirements (LSS address)

All LSS slaves must have a valid entry in the object dictionary for the Identity Object [1018h] in

order to be able to carry out a selective configuration of the node. This Object is made of the

following subindices:

• Vendor-ID (numerical number)

• Product-Code (numerical number)

• Revision-Number (major an minor revision as numerical number)

• Serial-Number (numerical number)

• LSS-Master CAN-ID 2021

• LSS-Slave CAN-ID 2020

A product code, a revision number and a serial number are set by the manufacturer. The LSS

address must be univocal in the network.

LSS operative restrictions

In order to ensure a perfect LSS functionality, all devices in the network must support the LSS

services. There can only be one LSS master. All nodes must be started up wit the same baud rate.

LSS communication can only take place in „Stop“ mode or in „Pre-Operational“ mode.
