Privacy Enable
By enabling privacy on an outgoing call, you may choose to make an anonymous call. To enable
privacy perform the following steps:
1. Press *67.
2. Go on hook.
Any subsequent call shall now be sent out as anonymous call.
SIPS Support
SIPS in IAD uses the SIPS URI scheme instead of the SIP URI scheme. While using a SIPS
URI, it is required that all hops in the SIP signaling path are secured by TLS security.
SIPS is used if the sip security setting is sips.
However incoming connections over TCP and UDP are also accepted. It may be desirable to
prevent these when SIPS is in use, to add extra security.
There is no fallback mechanism from SIPS to SIP URI schemes as this would be a violation of
the requested security. A SIPS URI is secure as it mandates the use of TLS, but a SIP URI is not
necessarily secure as it could use TCP, UDP or TLS.
SIP TEL-URI Support
Tel-URI support is provided for both local and global forms of Tel-URIs. When the Tel-URI is
enabled, dial maps for Tel-URI s are created and a request URI is sent as the Tel-URI if the
number dialed by user matches the dial map. Once the Tel-URI support is enabled and the
dialed digits successfully matches any of the entries in Tel-URI dial map, an INVITE message
is sent to the called number. The “To” header in this INVITE message contains the Tel-URI
corresponding to the matched Tel-URI dial map entry.
When this INVITE message reaches the called number, the Request-URI is parsed and
matched against the Tel-URI for the endpoint. If it does not match, 404 (SIP not found), error
response is sent and the message is dropped. The Tel-URI in the “Reply-To” header shall be
parsed and all subsequent requests shall be sent using the received Tel-URI as the Request-
URI.
In case the dialled digits fail to map the Tel-URI dial map, the configured SIP URIs are used for
making the call.
