1. General Description

Introduction
RCI5000™ is a dedicated Radio Communication Interface between several radio
systems such as LARS™, RCMS™, MEGANET™ and the operator or PC in the
control station.
The RCI5000 receives information from end units (transmitters/transceivers) in the
network, such as ATS100™
,
or repeaters: (e.g., SMR5000™). The RCI5000
displays the processed information, prints it, and forwards it to the PC in the center
for further processing and display.
RCI5000™ as part of the new 5000 family has many new features that make him the
leading product in the market today.
1.2
Physical Description
RCI5000 can come in two configurations; without radio configuration and with radio
configuration.
Without radio configuration - In this configuration the RCI5000 includes an internal
encoder/decoder (ED5000) that receives radio signals from external radio transceiver.
Converts those radio (analog) signal to digital and vice versa.
With radio configuration - In this configuration the RCI5000 includes an internal digital
transceiver (IATS5000) in the VHF 136-174 MHz band or in the UHF 400-512 MHz band.
All configurations also include one powerful CPU (CI5000), a 1.3Ah backup battery and
charger. All these components are housed in a desktop mount.
The RCI5000 has a built-in keyboard for entering parameters and an LCD for message and
data display. It has three ports: a serial port, a parallel port and a USB port, which connect
to a PC and a printer.
