Select one of the cables and slide the heat-shrink tubes over the exposed wires.

Move the heat-shrink tubes as far over as you can so that you don’t accidentally
shrink them when soldering in the next step. Try to twist the Ethernet pairs as
they were originally.

Refer to the cable pinout diagrams for both cables to identify which wires to
solder together.

Tip

Ethernet-pair colours may differ from cable to cable, depending on the cable
manufacturer. Use the pinout diagrams to match the pin signal with the colour
for each wire.
