NOTICE
If the nitrogen gas charge pressure in the accumulators is low and operations are continued, it becomes
impossible to release the remaining pressure inside the hydraulic circuit if a failure occurs on the ma-
chine.

Function of accumulators

The accumulator stores the pressure in the circuit of the servo-controls. Even after the engine is stopped, the
control circuit can be operated, so the following actions are possible.

• By operating the control lever in the lowering direction of the work equipment, this may lower due to its own

weight.

• The pressure in the hydraulic circuit can be released.

 CAUTION

When performing the inspection, check that there is no person or obstacle in the area around the ma-
chine.
 

Replace the accumulators every 2 years or every 4000 hours, whichever comes sooner.
Check the nitrogen gas charge pressure as follows.
1.

Stop the machine on a solid and flat surface

2.

Hold  the  work  equipment  in  the  maximum  reach  posture
(boom  fully  OUT,  bucket  fully  DUMP)  at  height  (A)  of  1.5
 mfrom the ground.

3.

Perform the following procedure within 15 seconds.

REMARK

After  the  engine  stops,  the  pressure  of  the  accumulators
decreases gradually. You can check only just after the en-
gine stops.
