Install the Cement Board (cont.)
Make sure the wall is perfectly flat and smooth within a 5
″
(12.7 cm) diameter area around the
suction hole pencil mark. Use a hole saw to cut a 3-1/4
″
hole in the cement board at the pencil
mark.
Carefully cut holes for the water supplies, suction, drain overflow, as well as any lighting fixtures or
other required accessories.
12. Construct the Footbath Basin
Construct the footbath basin according to your specific room design. Provide a 1/4
″
(6 mm) to 1/2
″
(1.3 cm) per foot (30.5 cm) pitch to the floor for proper drainage.
Locate and cut the drain and drain overflow holes according to the instruction packed with the
drain. The K-7179 drain is specially designed for this product and is recommended.
13. Install Water-Resistant Wall Material to the Ceiling
Install water-resistant wall material to the entire ceiling surface according to established methods.
CHECK POINT # 7.
Confirm that:
The waterproofing membrane
or compound is installed.
The suction bushing is
installed.
The cement board is installed
to subfloor and walls.
The required holes are marked
and cut in the cement board.
The footbath basin has a floor
pitch of 1/4
″
(6 mm) to 1/2
″
(1.3 cm) per foot (30.5 cm).
