The following description applies if the receiver uses the default IEC 61162–1 Ed. 5
(2016) communications protocol standard for alert management.

To return to the default IEC 61162–1 Ed. 4 (2010) protocol, refer to paragraph 7.8.2.2.1
(Selecting Alarm Handling Protocols) for instructions.
・
An alert output sentence like the example below will be output via the serial interface
ports (rear–panel

connectors) when an alert condition develops
or when an alert request is received from the INS/BAM system.
