After a long period of disuse, check for obstructions in the flue before turning on the appliance.
Cleaning the ash drawer
Too much combustion residue inside the ash drawer prevents the proper supply of oxygen for combustion, reducing the
performance of the appliance, as well as possibly damaging the grate inside the combustion chamber.
We recommend you periodically empty the ash drawer
(figure 11)
to ensure an efficient flow of combustion air at all
times. It is also recommended to occasionally remove residual ash from the combustion chamber.
Cleaning the ceramic glass
Always clean the glass when the appliance is off and has cooled down completely. Use a damp cloth or a detergent
specifically formulated for ceramic glass. Do not use abrasive sponges. Do not clean the glass if still warm; changes in
temperature can lead to breakage.
Cleaning the cooking hotplate
The cast iron hotplate requires regular maintenance, above all if residues or liquids have deposited following its use.
It is recommended to clean the hotplate, while it is still warm. This is to allow any humidity to evaporate and prevent the
formation of rust stains; it is therefore not recommended to clean the cast iron plate when cold.
The cast iron plate should be treated with a non-acidic, oil corrosion protection. With frequent use, this layer is worn
away and the protection is lost. The formation of small rust stains may then appear, particularly in the presence of water
or other liquids. For this reason, it is necessary to reapply the non-acidic oil to the hotplate with a cloth.
If rust stains do appear, they can be removed using a slightly abrasive sponge or sandpaper. Avoid the use of
aggressive or acidic detergents.
Colour change over time should not be considered a product defect, rather it is a peculiarity of the material used.
The hotplate is subjected to continuous thermal expansions due to the increase/decrease in temperature; if removed and
replaced, ensure there is always a 2 mm gap between the hotplate and the hotplate frame surround to allow for any
thermal expansion of the hotplate.
