A/C system uses new refrig-
erant R-134A. the use of the
wrong refrigerant can cause
a malfunction of the system
such as compressor failure. be
sure proper refrigerant is used
prior to charging the system.
water in the A/C system can
cause a cooling malfunction
and damage cycle parts.
Insufficient amount of oil in
the compressor will cause
poor lubrication and compres-
sor failure.
Excessive amounts of oil will
cause a cooling malfunction.
Refrigerant and compressor oil
levels should be checked or re-
placed if the following occurs:
- Refrigerant or oil leaks from
A/C system
- Serious refrigerant leaks
- After repair of A/C system or
part replacement

SElF-DIAGNOSIS FuCNTION
DIAGNOSTIC METhOD
if there is problem in the heater/air-
conditioner, inspect it as below self-
diagnostic method.
1. turn "on" the ignition switch.
2. press the vent switch more than
4 times in 2 seconds with the air
intake switch pressed.
3. check that the switch indicator
flashes 5 times.
4. if the system returns to the previ-
ous state of self-diagnosis, it is
normal, if not, inspects items of
self-diagnosis.
5. when the power switch is pressed
once, the system is returned to the
previous state of self-diagnosis,
and when pressed twice, the sys-
tem stops.
ERROR MODE DISPlAY
1. if there’s faulty parts, the corre-
sponding indicator is flashed twice
at an interval of 0.5 seconds, the
other indicators are turned off.
2. the corresponding indicator dis-
play of faulty parts is as below.
