Operation Manual
PFX2731S
The high rate battery tester PFX2731S (SPEC71210) is a
multi-channel battery tester that supports high rate charge/
discharge tests of single cells with increased energy
density.
One chassis accommodates six channels, and each
channel’s charge/discharge power is 6 V-20 A.
This product is equipped with a protection function that
monitors voltage and current. This function consists of two
systems, one for hardware and one for software, and they
operate independently of each other.
In addition to this function, this product provides other
protections such as the DUT connecting function for
detecting DUT wiring errors and the overcharge/
overdischarge capacitance protection.
This product enables safe and unattended operation by
activating these multiple functions.
Features
High reliability
This product achieves high reliability by employing our
original circuit design technology proven for power
supplies in addition to long-life components such as
semiconductor switches instead of mechanical relays.
High-resolution/High accuracy
This product achieves high-resolution, high-accuracy
tests by adopting a 16-bit D/A converter (for setting
voltage and current to execute tests) and a 24-bit A/D
converter (for measuring voltage and current).
Supporting single-cell evaluations
With this product, you can perform single-cell
evaluations in developing all-solid-state (solid
electrolyte) lithium-ion batteries and high rate charge/
discharge tests for conventional liquid-based lithium-ion
batteries (single cells).
You can also use this product to evaluate single cells
intended for large battery modules in marine,
aerospace, or space applications, as well as those
designed for consumer products such as mobile
batteries and power tools.
Entire calibration by software
This product does not use variable resistors for
adjustments except for the H OVP and H UVP settings.
This product performs the entire calibration using the
software. That allows easy adjustments, improving
reliability.
Independent operation of individual channels in
entire tests
Such an independent channel operation makes it
possible to execute a test by combining batteries with
different properties. This product also has a
synchronization function that extends a rest time
allowing for the synchronization of temperature
chambers.
Adoption of LAN
This product achieves high-speed data transfer by
adopting a widely introduced LAN for the communication
interface.
