Features of your vehicle Door locks
Locking/unlocking with the
mechanical key
Operation
1. Pull out the mechanical key from
smart key.
2. Insert the mechanical key into the
keyhole outside of driver's door.
3. Turn the key to unlock.
WARNING
僅 If you don't close the door securely,
the door may open again.
僅 Be careful that someone's body and
hands are not trapped when closing
the door.
僅 If people must spend a longer time in
the vehicle while it is very hot or cold
outside, there is risk of injuries or dan
-
ger to life. Do not lock the vehicle
from the outside when there are peo
-
ple in it.
CAUTION
Do not frequently repeat opening and
closing of doors, or apply excessive
force to a door while the door closer is
operating.
NOTICE
僅 When locking the door with a
mechanical key, be aware that only
the driver's door can be locked/
unlocked.
僅 To lock all doors, operate the central
lock switch inside the vehicle. Open
the car door using the inner handle,
then close the door and lock the
driver's door with a mechanical key.
僅 Refer to "Door locks inside the vehicle"
on page 5-14 to lock from inside the
vehicle.
僅 Be careful not to lose or scratch the
cover when removing it.
僅 When the key cover freezes and does
not open, tap it lightly or indirectly
warm (hand temperature, etc.) it up.
僅 Do not apply excessive force to the
door and door handle. It may be dam

aged.
僅 If the door is locked/unlocked multiple
times in rapid succession with either
the vehicle key or door lock switch,
the system may stop operating tem
-
porarily in order to protect the circuit
and prevent damage to system com
-
ponents.
