U3042AE16

Description

Description

The Keysight U3042AE16 is a 16-Port solid-state test set used for multiport applications. The

test set can be connected to a 4-port PNA, PNA-L, or PNA-X, providing an 20-Port network

analyzer solution for full crossbar measurements.
The U3042AE16 has the following key features:

• 16 test ports (3.5 mm male connectors)
• High speed, solid state RF switching

• Frequency range of operation:

— 10 MHz to 26.50 GHz (Standard Opt 700)

• Keysight PNA compatibility with rear panel Test Set I/O interface for operational control. The

PNA Option 551 is required and provides N-Port calibration capabilities.

• The U3042AE16 is directly controlled by the network analyzer, no external personal

computer or software is required.

The N5222A/B PNA, N5232A/B PNA-L and N5242A/B PNA-X Network Analyzers will be
referred to throughout this document as the PNA, PNA-L and PNA-X. Analyzer refers to all
series of PNA, PNA-L and PNA-X. The U3042AE16 will be referred to as the test set.

The B Model analyzers have the darker Keysight color format. The Test Set
color format has changed to match this Keysight color.

Measurement Application Note

Low Loss DUT Measurements

Low loss trace stability is a product of switch repeatability and calibration technique. Low
insertion loss measurements exhibiting 0.1 dB of uncertainty is not uncommon.

Verifying the Shipment

To verify the contents shipped with your product, refer to the “Box Content List” included

with the shipment.
Inspect the shipment. Keep the shipping container and packaging material until you have
inspected the contents of the shipment for completeness and have verified the instrument
mechanically and electrically. If there is physical damage refer to
