6 Press [AutoScale] .
Note that AutoScale sets
up the triggering and
horizontal display based
on the carrier signal.
However, our desire is to
set up the oscilloscope’s
triggering based on the
envelope of this complex
AM signal.
7 Change time base setting
to 100 µs/div.
Note that the
oscilloscope will appear
to be untriggered.
8 Press the [Run/Stop] key.
This will stop acquisitions
and display the last
acquisition on
screen—the expected AM
signal is now displayed
on a single acquisition
when stopped. Now let’s
set up the holdoff trigger
value to achieve a stable
trigger.
