Calibrating a Reference Plane

To get a reliable measurement from the VNA you must calibrate a reference plane so that

the VNA knows where the probe under test is located along the transmission line.

On the VNA, press the

[Cal]

key.

Press the

cal menu

screen key.

Press the

full 2 port

screen key.

Connect the PV fixture to the

Port 1

on the VNA using a high quality SMA cables. Connect

the cable to the pincher side of PV fixture as shown in

Figure 17

on page 42.

The calibration reference plane is at the other end of PV fixture.
