Calibrating the Probe on InfiniiVision Oscilloscopes 30
Always calibrate the probe before making any critical measurements. A probe calibration
removes attenuation errors, offset errors, and timing delays that are introduced by the
probe. This chapter contains basic calibration procedures for both Infiniium and InfiniiVision
oscilloscopes. For additional information on the probe calibration refer to the oscilloscope’s
user documentation.
CAUTION
Always wear an ESD wrist strap when working with active probes. Not doing so can result in the probe
becoming permanently damaged.
