Introduction to Programming

Once the command is entered, selecting ‘Write’ sends the command to the 

instrument. As mentioned before, commands sent from this interface are also 

logged (except query commands) and can be copied to other environments. 

Logging SCPI Commands

The System Overview window (Figures 4-2 and 4-7) is used to view SCPI 

commands sent to the instrument as it is configured using the windows of the 

‘Browser Web Control Page’. Once the desired configuration is set, the 

corresponding (logged) commands can be copied and pasted into other 

development environments.

Commands sent from any IO environment (e.g. Web windows, Keysight 

Connection Expert Interactive IO, Microsoft development environments) to the 

instrument are logged. Query commands (those which return data) sent from any 

Web interface window are not logged.
