sional changes of separators, wastewater treatment systems
and rainwater storage tanks in comparison with dimensions li-
sted in catalogs or drawings. Before installation of the chamber
it is recommended that the exact dimensions of the chamber
being installed (especially the chamber height) is checked.
5.5 Installation
The float and coalescence insert, if fitted, remain in the tank du-
ring installation. Installation in groundwater is possible as long
as the maximum groundwater level does not exceed the top
of the tank
➆
.
Insertion
The tanks must be placed carefully in the construction pit with
the aid of suitable lifting equipment and positioned on the sub-
strate bedding (see also the Chapter “Transport”).
Filling of tank and backfilling of excavation pit
To avoid deformation of the tank, filling of the tank with water
and backfilling of the excavation pit must be carried out in par-
allel. The tank encasing must be manufactured in a width of at
least 50 cm. The individual layers should not exceed a height
of 30 cm. They must be compacted using light compacting
equipment (min. Dpr = 97%). Damage to the tank wall and a
dislocation of the tanks during and after installation must be
ruled out. The automatically closing pipe end piece remains
closed during the entire filling process.
Connection of the tank
Any transport safety devices fitted must be removed. Note: the
pipe connection fittings must be protected against damage in
order to ensure the permanent integrity of the system. To make
connection easier, the pipe connection fittings should be ade-
quately greased. The transition from downpipes to horizontal
pipes must be made using two 45° elbows separated by an in-
termediate pipe at least 250 mm long. A calming section must
be installed in front of the separator system, which must be at
least 10x as long as the nominal width of the feed pipe.
Ventilation
According to DIN EN 1825-2, the grease separator as well
as the inlet and outlet drainage pipes must be properly ven-
tilated. The main inlet pipe to a grease separator should be
directly ventilated to the roof of the building. An additional
ventilation pipe should be installed near the inlet of the grea-
se separator in the case that the main inlet pipe is longer
than 10 meters and offers no ventilation for this 10 meters.
All secondary drainage pipes 5meters or longer which enter
the main inlet pipe should also be separately ventilated.
Connection of the sample removal shaft
Sample removal devices must be installed in the direction
of flow immediately after the separator. The sample removal
device of the separator system must be freely accessible
and positioned so that only waste water is removed which
has passed through the separator.
Insert the DN 600 lip seal
Insert the DN lip seal WITHOUT any lubricant. Make sure
it is free of debris and damage. After it is installed, lubri-
cate only the inner facing surface of the seal.
