Scope of application | General information

Functional description of "Protect"
The KEMPER Leak Protection System for protection against water damage caused by leaks in the
potable water system as well as for automatic protection of potable water systems when leaving
buildings (with or also without water sensor) see 1.2.1. The timer programs additionally facilitate
automatic protection when leaving the building and during long absences (see 4.2.8).
The KEMPER Leak Safety System in the basic version comprises a:
leak controller
an Isolating valve and
a water sensor.
The cut-off valve is installed in the flow path directly before the DW system/subsection that is to be
monitored. The water sensor is mounted near the floor in the room to be monitored. If there is a
water film > 0.5 mm on both water sensor contacts, that state is detected in the controller using a
direct-current resistance measurement and the KHS VAV with servo drive is closed immediately
before the DW installation section to be protected. Up to two individually monitored detector circuits
can be set up through one leak controller. 25 water sensors can be safely connected per detector
circuit. The leak is acoustically and visually indicated on the controller. The alarm can be forwarded
to a BMS. Comply with the wiring instructions in 4.2 to preclude electronic interference.
