be hot! Fill the bottles up to the
top; if foam forms, allow the juice
to run over. We recommend that
the bottles are held in a container.
The best option is to place a
stable stool next to the stove. A
damp cloth underneath the bottles
prevents them from bursting.
It is important that the juice is
filled when hot. At a temperature
of 75°C, it is free of bacteria and
can be stored for longer.
Bottles that are not filled up to the
top are not suitable for storage!
The full bottles are now closed
with the rubber caps. Make sure
that you do not touch the caps on
the inside with your hands.
The filled bottles may not cool
down too quickly. Place the
bottles e.g. into a bottle crate and
cover them with a damp, warm
cloth.
Then store the bottles with the
rubber caps in a cool, dark, dry
room, and keep them upright.
CLEANING AND CARE
The Kela steam juice extractor is
robust and easy to clean. Rinse
the parts thoroughly with hot rins-
ing water. With the exception of
the silicone hose, all parts can be
washed in the dishwasher. After
use, clean all parts thoroughly -
no dirt residues may remain in the
nozzle and hose.
Depending on the degree of water
hardness, the pot should occa-
sionally be cleaned with vinegar
or a standard decalcifier so that it
is free of calcium residues.
Never use scrubbing or acidic
agents on sensitive surfaces. Any
food residues that have become
stuck should be soaked in water
and then cleaned off carefully. Dry
cooking utensils thoroughly and
keep them in a dry place.
TIPS
Due to the different juice extrac-
tion times, you should not put
hard and soft fruits together in
the pot.
Skin, cores, stalks and stems can
remain on the fruit, unless you
want to use the mash for other
purposes.
Sweet cherries alone do not taste
good as juice; instead, mix them
with sour cherries.
The best varieties to use are pec-
tin-free; juice that contains high
levels of pectin becomes sludgy.
Elderberries can only be enjoyed
after processing with the steam
juice extractor, since the sambun-
igrin that is otherwise contained
in the juice, and which leads to
nausea, cramps and diarrhoea, is
neutralised. Heat the juice in the
container until the juice extraction
process has come to an end, and
only fill into bottles at the very
end.
We do not recommend using
citrus fruits and kiwis, since the
skins are usually chemically treat-
ed. The same applies to bananas.
