Installing a multiple-user system
When KiD is installed on a network, several workstations on which KiD is installed
can access a common database.
A computer in the network must be configured as the database server in this
case. This computer must always be booted up before all the other computers
and turned off after all other computers are turned off (for example in the evening
if at all).
Note
If you intend to install KiD on the network, the network server needs to be instal‐
led first.
Installing the network server
Note
In a multi-user system, all the associated workstations must access the same da‐
tabase server, the same database and the same document path; otherwise in‐
consistencies in the data can arise.
