4 Preparation at the touch of a button
Place the cup under the coffee spout.

Touch the Espresso symbol.
1 ESPRESSO
is displayed for about two seconds. The
Espresso symbol is active.
READY
. T
Touch the Start symbol.
Preparation will now begin.
1 ESPRESSO
appears on the
display. The pre-set amount of water flows into the cup.
Preparation stops automatically and
READY
appears on
the display.
To make sure the cappuccino frother always works properly, rinse
and clean it regularly (see Chapter 6, ‘Maintenance – Cappuccino
frother’).
You can choose a second coffee variety, for example decaffeinated
coffee, with the filler funnel for pre-ground coffee.
Never add more than two level measuring spoons of pre-
ground coffee.
Use pre-ground coffee which is not ground too finely. Very
fine coffee can block up the system so that the coffee only
comes out in drips.
If you did not fill the machine with a sufficient amount of pre-
ground coffee,
NOT ENOUGH PRE-GROUND
is displayed
and the IMPRESSA stops operation.
The desired speciality coffee must be prepared within approx-
imately one minute after filling with the pre-ground coffee.
Otherwise the IMPRESSA stops the operation and is ready for
use again.
All speciality coffees with pre-ground coffee are prepared following
this model.
Example : Proceed as follows to prepare a cup of coffee using pre-
ground coffee.
Place a cup under the coffee spout.
Open the cover of the storage compartment, take out the
measuring spoon for pre-ground coffee and close the cover
again.
