2 Preparing and using for the first time
Select a coarse setting for a darker roast.
If the consistency of grind is too coarse , the coffee flows too
quickly from the coffee spout.
Example : Proceed as follows to change the consistency of grind
during the preparation of an espresso.
Open the cover of the storage compartment.
Place a cup under the coffee spout.

Touch the Espresso symbol.
1ESPRESSO
is displayed for about two seconds and the
Espresso symbol is active.
READY

Touch the Start symbol.
The grinder starts and
1 ESPRESSO
appears on the
display.
Turn the grinder adjustment switch to the desired position
while the grinder is running.
The coffee will be prepared and the consistency of grind is
adjusted.
Close the cover of the storage compartment.
Precondition : Your IMPRESSA is switched on at the power switch.

Press the on/off button to switch the IMPRESSA on.
HEATING
appears on the display.
PRESS RINSE
, the maintenance button

lights up.
Place a receptacle under the coffee spout.

Press the maintenance button.
RINSING
, the machine rinses.
The operation stops automatically.
