RRS Economizer Controller Quick Start Guide
Other than inter-connection to the base unit, the 14-pin con-
nector at the upper edge of the RRS Economizer Controller
has connections for the economizer damper actuator
included with field installed economizer accessories. Power
for the actuator is provided through the - (24 volts AC com-
mon/DC-) and + (24 volts AC hot) pins. The +2 to +10 volts
DC, as configured for 3 through 6 ton economizer accesso-
ries, from the DMP output pin positions the actuator. The +2
to +10 volts DC, as configured for 3 through 6 ton economizer
accessories, from the actuator position feedback is received
at the DFB input pin. The DFB input is utilized for California
Title 24-type actuator position alarming when the RRS Econ-
omizer Controller parameter [Fault Detect En] is set to
Enable.

Wiring Connections
Field-installed economizer accessories with the RRS Econo-
mizer Controller include an outdoor air temperature (OAT)
sensor and outdoor air humidity (OAH) sensor, combined in
single assembly, as well as a supply air temperature (SAT)
sensor. Optional dual enthalpy kits for field installed econo-
mizer accessories with the RRS Economizer Controller add a
return air temperature (RAT) sensor and return air humidity
(RAH) sensor combined in single assembly.
The supply air temperature sensor, the outdoor air tempera-
ture portion of the OAT/OAH sensor, and the return air tem-
perature portion of the optional RAT/RAH sensor connect to
terminals near the lower-left corner of the RRS Economizer
Controller. These temperature sensors are Type III, 10,000
@ 77°F, negative temperature coefficient thermistors.
Connections for the outdoor air humidity (OAH) portion of the
OAT/OAH sensor and the return air humidity portion of the
optional RAT/RAH sensor are located to the right of the tem-
perature sensor terminals on the lower edge of the RRS
Economizer Controller. The RRS Economizer Controller pro-
vides power for these sensors through the corresponding C
(24 volts AC common/DC-) and R (24 volts AC hot) terminals.
The 0 to 10 volts DC over a 0 to 100% RH span sensors pro-
vide volts DC+ input to the corresponding OAH or RAH termi-
nal of the RRS Economizer Controller. The RRS Economizer
Controller calculates enthalpy for free cooling changeover
from temperature and humidity inputs.
The 6-pin connector at the upper edge of the RRS Econo-
mizer Controller has connections for other optional inputs.
The RRS Economizer Controller provides power for the
indoor air quality (IAQ) sensor through the corresponding C
(24 volts AC common/DC-) and R (24 volts AC hot) pins. The
0 to 10 volts DC over a 0 to 2000 ppm CO2 span sensor pro-
vides volts DC+ input to the IAQ pin of the RRS Economizer
Controller. The IAQ input is utilized when single-input
demand ventilation function is desired. 24 volts AC hot to the
SD input pin causes shutdown of all economizer functions.
The 6-pin connector at the upper edge of the RRS Econo-
mizer Controller also has connection for integration of non-
modulating power exhaust or exhaust recovery ventilator
accessories. Primarily determined by the RRS Economizer
Controller parameter [Exhaust Setup] selection, the 24 volts
AC hot from the ERV-EXH output pin provides switching for
control of non-modulating power exhaust/exhaust recovery
ventilator accessories.
