The data of Self Test results files can be viewed in spread-
sheet programs such as Microsoft Excel or Open Office Calc
RRS ECONOMIZER CONTROLLER PARAMETER
CONFIGURATION FOR 3 THROUGH 6 TON PACK-
AGE UNITS
The descriptions in the Operation section assume the RRS
Economizer Controller is configured for proper interaction
with the Simplicity Lite board compressor control functions.
The lists that follow indicate “factory default” parameter set-
tings; field review of these settings should be made if issues
of compressor control arise.

NOTE:
With RRS Economizer Controller usage, the Simplic-
ity Lite [Fan On Delay: Cool] parameter is not effec-
tive and must remain at the default setting of 0
seconds. Simplicity Lite operation of the compres-
sor cannot begin until the RRS Economizer Control-
ler boot-up sequence is completed and the [Cmp
Min Off Time] timer expires (approximately 1 min-
ute, 16 seconds after power is applied to the RRS
Economizer Controller). In situations where the
indoor fan cycles with cooling operation and the unit
is powered-up; operation of the compressor cannot
begin until the Simplicity Lite compressor ASCD
expires, the RRS Economizer Controller boot-up
sequence is completed and the [Cmp Min Off Time]
timer expires (a total minimum of approximately 6
minutes, 16 seconds after power is applied to the
unit). If Y1 thermostat input is present, Simplicity
Lite will display flash code 11 during the RRS Econ-
omizer Controller boot-up sequence and the [Cmp
Min Off Time] timer period.
The descriptions in the Operation section also assume the
RRS Economizer Controller is configured properly for the
economizer accessory used in 3 through 6 ton package units.

of economizer control arise.

Additional configuration of the RRS Economizer Controller is
dependent on the options, features and functions desired for
the application. Configuration of the associated parameters is
described in the Operation section.
OPERATION
The RRS Economizer Controller provides minimum position
ventilation and free cooling functions through direct control of
the economizer actuator. Coordination of the compressor,
optional power exhaust and remote alarm indication is pro-
vided through contact switching.
The RRS Economizer Controller is powered with unit indoor
blower operation; there is output from the Simplicity Lite G pin
so 24 volts AC power is present to the RRS Economizer Con-
troller C and R pins. All outputs end and the spring-return
actuator utilized in economizer accessories returns to the OA
damper fully closed / RA damper fully open whenever power
is removed from the controller.
